When ordinary paper gives up, stone paper is only getting started. We have expanded the Modestone waterproof notebook range at Lynxgear with larger formats and a unique solution - the Modestone Glowpad, which combines virtually indestructible stone paper with photoluminescent covers that glow in the dark.

Let’s be honest - most so-called waterproof notebooks are simply waxed paper that still turns into mush after prolonged soaking. Modestone notebooks are different, because this technology developed in Finland changes everything we thought we knew about writing in field conditions.

What is stone paper and how does it work?

Modestone technology is an engineering achievement that uses neither wood nor water. The notebook material consists of 80% ground limestone and 20% high-density polyethylene, and this combination gives Modestone notebooks truly unique properties:

• no grain direction - unlike wood-based paper, Modestone does not tear along fibres and is equally durable in every direction;

• long service life - stone paper does not rot, yellow or get eaten by insects, so your notes will remain readable even after many years;

• the ability to write even with metal - thanks to the material’s density, you can write on it even with a ballpoint tip or a key (the so-called metal point effect) in cases where your pen suddenly stops working.

New: large A5, A4 and NATO standard models

Until now, the Lynxgear.lv assortment was dominated by compact pocket notebooks, but we have now introduced larger-size models as well as models assigned an NSN number (NATO Stock Number). They are ideal for map sketches, detailed reports or tactical calculations where more space is needed without sacrificing material durability.

Glowpad - a notebook you can see even in the dark

A special addition to our range is the Modestone Glowpad. Its covers are made from photoluminescent material that “charges” during the day and glows softly at night. This makes it possible to find your notes in a dark tent or at the bottom of a backpack without using a flashlight.
