Tatonka Tarp 2 TC is a robust 285 × 300 cm shelter made from tear-resistant polycotton fabric. Its high UV stability makes it particularly suitable as a sun sail for camping, bushcraft and outdoor use in warm regions.
Nine reinforced attachment points, fixation loops and pole eyelets support several pitching configurations. Four guy lines are included, while poles and ground pegs must be obtained separately.

Polycotton Fabric for Warm Conditions
The tarp is made from 65% polyester and 35% cotton. This combination provides the strength and dimensional stability of synthetic fibre while retaining the natural feel and favourable hot-weather characteristics of cotton.
The densely woven material offers very good UV stability and is designed primarily to provide shade. Unlike many lightweight coated polyester tarps, it is not classified as waterproof and has a stated water column below 1,300 mm.
Flexible Pitching Options
The square-format tarp can be configured as a sloping sun sail, an angled lean-to or a raised canopy, depending on the available trees, poles and anchor points. Reinforced corners help distribute tension, while the additional attachment points allow the pitch to be adapted to the site.
Compatible tarp poles can be inserted into the reinforced eyelets. Trees may also be used where permitted, provided that suitable tree-friendly straps are chosen and the bark is not damaged.
Weather Protection and Limitations
The PFC/PFAS-free DWR finish helps the surface repel light moisture and dirt. The cotton component can also swell when damp, making the weave more water repellent. However, the Tarp 2 TC is intended mainly for shade and must not be treated as a fully waterproof rain shelter.
Continuous exposure to sunlight, moisture and wind can reduce the tarp’s performance and service life. It should therefore be dismantled after use rather than left outdoors as a permanent awning.
