Tatonka Alcohol Burner Set is a compact cooking system for preparing small, simple meals outdoors. It combines a spirit burner, folding aluminium windscreen with cooking stand and a 0.5-litre stainless-steel mug that also serves as a saucepan.

The pot, lid and handles fold into a space-saving package, while the supplied transport bag keeps the complete set together. One burner filling provides an approximate burning time of up to 40 minutes under suitable conditions.

Complete Compact Cooking System

The set contains the essential components needed to support the pot securely above the burner. The folding windscreen reduces direct exposure to moving air while also serving as the cooking stand. This improves efficiency compared with using an unsupported burner in exposed conditions.

The 0.5-litre vessel can be used as both a mug and a small saucepan. It is suitable for heating water and preparing compact portions such as soup, porridge or dehydrated meals.

Spirit Burner

The burner uses suitable alcohol-based stove fuel and provides an approximate operating time of 40 minutes per filling. Actual performance depends on fuel type and quantity, air temperature, wind, pot contents and operating conditions.

Fuel is not included. Only use fuel expressly intended and legally sold for alcohol or spirit stoves. Never use petrol, diesel, kerosene, paraffin, lighter fluid or other unsuitable fuels.

Folding Windscreen and Pot Stand

The aluminium windscreen folds for transport and forms a stable support around the burner when correctly assembled. It helps shield the flame from moderate wind but does not make the stove suitable for unsafe weather or enclosed spaces.

Set the cooker on a firm, level and non-combustible surface. Maintain open ventilation around the burner and keep the entire assembly away from dry vegetation, tents and other flammable materials.

18/8 Stainless-Steel Cookware

The pot and lid are made from food-safe 18/8 stainless steel, containing approximately 18% chromium and 8% nickel. This material is durable, corrosion resistant and easy to clean, making it well suited to reusable outdoor cookware.

Insulated folding handles improve handling and reduce the packed size. The insulation does not guarantee that the handles remain cool, so they should be approached cautiously during and after cooking.

Technical Specifications

Basic Setup and Use

1. Select a stable, level and non-combustible outdoor cooking area.
2. Unfold and assemble the windscreen and cooking stand correctly.
3. Place the cold burner securely in its intended position.
4. Add only the appropriate quantity of approved alcohol stove fuel without overfilling.
5. Wipe away any spilled fuel and move the fuel container away before ignition.
6. Ignite carefully; an alcohol flame may be pale and difficult to see in daylight.
7. Place the filled pot securely on the stand and supervise it continuously.
8. After use, confirm that the flame is fully extinguished and allow every component to cool before handling or packing.

Cleaning and Maintenance

• Allow all components to cool completely before cleaning.
• Wash the pot and lid with warm water, mild detergent and a soft sponge.
• Do not use steel wool or aggressive abrasive cleaners.
• Remove food residue and dry the stainless-steel components thoroughly.
• Keep the burner openings clean and unobstructed.
• Inspect the burner, windscreen, stand and handles before each trip.
• Pack the set only when it is clean, dry, cool and free from spilled fuel.

Fire and Carbon-Monoxide Safety

• Use only outdoors in a well-ventilated, open area. Never use inside a tent, vehicle, caravan, cabin or other enclosed or partly enclosed space.
• Burning fuel produces carbon monoxide, an invisible and potentially fatal gas.
• Never refill, move or dismantle the burner while it is burning, hot or producing vapour.
• Before refilling, extinguish the flame completely and allow the burner to cool.
• An alcohol flame may be almost invisible in daylight; verify carefully that it is extinguished.
• Keep children, pets, fuel containers and combustible materials away from the cooker.
• Never leave the lit stove unattended.
• Do not cook beneath low branches or where local fire restrictions prohibit open flames.
• Keep suitable fire-extinguishing means nearby and follow local wildfire regulations.
• Do not use the stove if any component is damaged, unstable or incorrectly assembled.
