The PRANDI 3.003.T German Type Hatchet is a compact Italian-made hatchet designed for outdoor, camp, garden, woodworking and general utility tasks. Built according to the German DIN 5131 style, it combines a hardened carbon-steel head with a traditional wooden handle and a genuine leather lace.

The hatchet head is made from C45 carbon steel with a polished and hardened blade. The head weight is approximately 600 g, giving the tool enough mass for effective chopping while remaining compact and manageable for field use.

This version is supplied with a 36 cm hickory handle. Hickory is widely used for axe and hatchet handles because it offers good strength, shock absorption and a traditional feel in the hand. A blade cover is included, while replacement handles are available separately.

German Type Hatchet Design

The German type hatchet is a classic compact axe pattern suitable for controlled chopping, splitting small pieces of wood, preparing kindling and general camp or garden use. The head shape provides a practical balance between cutting penetration and working strength.

Its compact size makes it easier to carry and control than a full-size axe, while still offering more chopping capability than most knives or small cutting tools.

C45 Carbon Steel Head

The hatchet head is made from C45 carbon steel, a medium-carbon steel commonly used for working tools that require toughness and hardness. The blade is polished and hardened to provide a durable cutting edge for normal hatchet tasks.
