The Muela Kodiak KODIAK-10M is a compact full-tang hunting knife designed for dependable field use. One of Muela’s long-standing and popular hunting models, the Kodiak combines a robust one-piece construction with a practical Drop Point blade, black Micarta handle scales and traditional metal fittings.

The blade is made from MOVA (1.4116) stainless steel and hardened to approximately 56–58 HRC. With a blade length of approximately 100 mm and a thickness of 4 mm, the Kodiak offers a strong, compact format suitable for hunting, outdoor utility work and camp tasks.

Its full-tang construction means that the blade steel continues through the entire handle, providing excellent structural strength. Black Micarta scales, nickel-silver bolsters and a lanyard hole complete the handle, while the included leather sheath secures the knife with a press-stud fastening.

Full-Tang Construction

The Kodiak is built with a full-tang construction, meaning the blade steel extends through the entire length of the handle.

This construction provides a high level of strength and stability compared with lighter partial-tang designs, making the knife well suited to demanding hunting and outdoor tasks.

Despite its robust structure, the knife should not be used as a pry bar, chisel, hammer or other tool for which it was not designed.

MOVA (1.4116) Stainless Steel

The blade is made from MOVA (1.4116) stainless steel, a corrosion-resistant blade steel commonly used in European hunting and outdoor knives.

Muela specifies a hardness of approximately 56–58 HRC, providing a practical balance between edge retention, toughness and ease of sharpening.

Although stainless steel offers good corrosion resistance, the blade should still be cleaned and dried after use, particularly after contact with moisture, blood, food acids or salt.

Drop Point Blade

The Kodiak uses a Drop Point blade profile. This design combines a strong tip with a curved cutting edge and is widely used for hunting and outdoor knives.

4 mm Blade Thickness
