The Cold Steel Polypropylene Training Dagger is a full-size synthetic training aid designed to reproduce the general size, reach and weight of a large dagger without using a sharpened steel blade. Made from durable polypropylene, it is intended for controlled solo practice, demonstrations, handling drills and carefully supervised martial arts training.

The trainer measures approximately 50.8 cm overall, with an approximately 33 cm blade-shaped section and a handle length of approximately 17.8 cm. At approximately 349 g, it has considerably more weight and rigidity than Cold Steel’s softer Santoprene trainers.

This is a rigid polypropylene trainer, not a soft rubber training knife. It can cause significant pain, bruising, cuts, eye injuries or other serious harm if used carelessly. It should not be used for uncontrolled contact, full-force sparring or unsupervised partner drills.

Rigid Polypropylene Construction

The Training Dagger is moulded from polypropylene, a tough synthetic material resistant to moisture, dirt and normal outdoor conditions. Unlike traditional wooden training tools, it does not absorb water and requires very little maintenance.

The polypropylene construction is substantially harder and less flexible than Santoprene rubber. This gives the trainer a more rigid and substantial feel, but it also increases the risk of injury during contact training.

Users must not assume that the absence of a steel blade makes the product harmless. The tip, edges, guard and overall mass can still cause serious injury.

Full-Size Training Format

At approximately 50.8 cm overall, this is a large training dagger with considerably more reach than a conventional training knife. The 33 cm blade-shaped section and 349 g weight make it useful for practising distance, handling and movement around a larger dagger-style profile.

Its size and rigidity require a large, unobstructed training area and strict control during every exercise.
